My Process

I think it is important to understand your strengths, weaknesses, what flow works best for you, and understand how others think, then use that to optimize how teams work together. Here I explain my typical process, and why each step is important to me.

  • BRAINSTORMING - This step involves lots of energy. I like get every idea out in the open & narrow down our vision from there.
  • RESEARCH - We compile options of similar styles, competitors, and unique directions of ways the project could go.
  • CONCEPT - We start to dissect the philosophy of the project & create a set of rules for how the design should feel & portray. I also consider where the design will be used. Digital? Print?
  • SKETCHING - This stage is all about exploration & I fine tuning the final direction of the project.
  • FOUNDATION - We decide the core values, visuals, and message we want to send to consumers.
  • CRITIQUES - I take the feedback & begin to make changes. I also clearly understand what the client likes & more importantly, dislikes.
  • CREATION - I bring the ideas to the computer & make version after version to figure out the little details.
  • TYPOGRAPHY - We pick out fonts that compliment the design, the business, and is as recognizable and impactful as the visuals.
  • PROTOTYPING - We analyze how the project will look out in the wild, with print, digital, and user experience tests. Then make final adjustments.
  • FINAL - After all of our blood, sweat, and tears, we complete our project, handoff all the deliverables, and watch you succeed.
